Activities in Ballinskelligs and South Kerry
This boat trip to Skellig Michael is one of the "must do´s" when you visit South Kerry...

A visit to Skellig Michael

Baile an Sceilg- which means "town of the Skellig"- was home to the monks who had left the monastery on Sceilg Mhichíl in the 12th century to live on the mainland in Ballinskelligs Abbey.
The Monastery on the Skellig Rock today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and can be visited during the summer months.
Boats leave from Ballinskelligs Pier and from Portmagee.
